Accommodation: Ground floor: An open-planliving/dining/kitchen area (full cooking facilities including a microwave). The living area has French windows that open onto a patio. Two twin bedrooms, both have French windows that open onto the adjoining patio. One family bathroom with Jacuzzi bath/shower.
First floor: A marble staircase climbs up to one double bedroom, en-suite bathroom with bath/shower. Two sets of French windows open onto a balcony and verandah.
Also included: a hairdryer, air conditioning, an automatic washing machine, DVD/TV, CD/Radio system, double glazed windows have mosquito nets.
Outside: A private swimming pool and large patio with patio furniture and B.B.Q. Natural stone terracing, walling and steps, all lit at night. Parking area. SEA VIEWS.
Villa Aquarius sits behind and above her sister villas Cassiopeia and Carina. This villa has lovely views of the sea and hills opposite. From the master bedroom upstairs, there is a stunning view from the private patio. It is a perfect hidden nook to enjoy a morning coffee and soak in the vista across the village to the sea beyond. Many families have found this villa to be an ideal location, especially if joining other friends and family for their holiday.
This modern villa is immaculate and lovingly tended by the family. They are keen to welcome guests and are never far away as they have a butchery on the island. Comfortable furniture and the bonus of modern electrical appliances seem such a luxury when you look around and see how simple the local's lifestyle is. Climbers, trees and shrubs have been planted for beauty and added privacy between the villas. If you like B.B.Q.'s this is the place to do it. Panos is the owner of Aquarius and his father Yiannis is the local butcher. He has his own animals, and the meat, eggs and cheesearethe freshest you could possibly wish for. He is a traditional farmer and tends to his work like his forebears before him. Modern ethics and the use of chemicals are still shrouded in uncertainty. The goats still skip amongst the rocks and terraces and sheep graze freely under the olive groves. Walking around this lush island seems a stark contrast to some of the other barren islands on the east coast of Greece. You can see why the local people consider themselves fortunate. Meganissi is certainly a quiet location. Entertainment comes in the form of swimming, walking, boating and people watching from one of a handful of tavernas, most of these being on the water's edge. The small car included with this villa is unlikely to clock up many miles.
For those who don't fancy the 15 minute walk down to the beach at Spilia or would like to have supper in the village of Vathi, this is possibly the only time the car will be used. It is only 5 minutes walk from the centre of Spartohori village, where you will find all the necessary amenities. For water babies, we highly recommend hiring a 15 h.p. boat. Larger engines are available. It is fun to explore the coastline and great to find your own cove to snorkel. It is possible you may catch your own supper for the B.B.Q.! A daily ferry service runs to Lefkada from the bays of Vathi and Spilia and takes about 35 minutes. The ferry is for car and foot passengers.
N.B. Our inclusive prices include a Group C car or a 15 h.p. boat for up to 5 persons, (two cars or a 25 h.p. boat for 6 persons) for the duration of your stay. Also included are return taxi transfers from the airport and return boat transfers from Lefkada to Meganissi. If you choose a car then boat hire is highly recommended and can be rented daily, weekly or for the full duration of your stay.
